"We did our best but our best wasn't good enough, we don't regret anything."

The best game of Rain or Shine's Paul Lee so far was almost a story book ending last Tuesday night, but it wasn't enough to carry the team past Talk N' Text and win the Commissioner's Cup championship.

It was overtime in game 7 and the ball was with Paul lee. He has a chance to put the series away and give Rain and Shine the title but it didn't go the way as planned for the team.

"It's not for us. Binigay na namin lahat, hanggang dun lang talaga. Short," he told the reporters after the game.

Just mere seconds remained in overtime and the game tied at 106-106, Lee got the inbound pass dribbled to his left, then went for a three but it missed. He refused to give up and nailed a corner trey to put the Painters within one, 119-118, in the second overtime, but the Texters still held on in the end.

With the loss, Rain or Shine once again failed to win the championship after five finals appearances. Paul Lee, however, that their coach Yeng Guiao was still proud of what they achieved.

"Si coach Yeng proud pa rin sa amin kasi from the start of the series 'yun lang naman 'yung hinihingi niya sa amin, 'yung ibigay lang 'yung best namin," he said.

Le had been emotional after the game, but accepted their fate and already began to look forward to their next campaign, vowing to work hard until they get their long awaited championship.
