Total Lunar Eclipse Photo Guide for April 4, 2015



A total lunar eclipse took place this Saturday, April 4,2015 in only a span of 5 minutes. A lot of people has been anticipating the long awaited event, experts saying that this the brightest total
lunar eclipse, most call it the blood moon. The total phase of the lunar eclipse is recorded to be the shortest total lunar eclipse of the 21st Century. Coincidentally benefits from most of today's short attention spans!

For the last 4 hours before the Total Eclipse begin a lot of people from manila had their telescopes and cameras ready to fascinate upon the rare occassion of having a total lunar eclipse or as they call it, "Blood moon".

From start to finish, the moon takes exactly 3 hours and 29 minutes to totally cross the Earth's shadow. As studied by the local astrologist it started from 5:01 PM - 10:59 PM

(PST).
From the netizens of Philippines all over to Australia, we've gathered some fine shots of the lunar eclipse or blood moon. People have been taking countless shots of the 'red hot moon' and some locals just patiently looks at its majestic figure from this rare phenomenon.

During totality, the Moon will be in the constellation of Virgo. Blood Moons have been known throughout history as a great omen of a big change or event about to happen.

It has been studied that a Total lunar eclipse, aka blood moon, even more rare. "They happen only during a full moon, and only when the sun, Earth, and moon are precisely aligned so that the planet's shadow completely covers the moon. This usually happens only twice a year, and can be seen from only one hemisphere of the Earth. During a lunar eclipse the Earth comes between the moon and the sun, casting a shadow."

So far the phenomenon known as the Blood moon or the total lunar eclipse has been anticipated by many for its rare occurrence and for only 5 minutes. It has also been viewed by believers that it may bring growth and change through the year. You know the saying "once in a blue moon"? Well I guess you can consider it to be "once in a red moon".
