Mortal Kombat is mostly known for their controversial "fatalities" for being brutal and gruesome, but they do provide humorous fan services as well including the new "Selfie Fatality". Cassie Cage's second fatality in Mortal Kombat X starts off as a normal 'brutal' blow to finish an opponent, then she brings out her phone and snaps a shot at her victim. Posting it on a social media hub (no url provided).
In this video you can also see some familiar faces on the social media website where she posted the picture. Easter eggs such as characters commenting on on the picture, "sponsored" ads, and pictures of old characters and game developers on the side of the screen.
From the World of Warcraft to GTA V, there are loads of games jumping on the bandwagon of the Selfie Phenomenon. Can we expect more of this from other upcoming games as well? Still Mortal Kombat proves that it's still the game which everyone talks about.
