Rave-DoTA2 pros barred from leaving the country



Three members of Team Rave, Ryo "ryOyr" Hasegawa, Djarel "Chrissy" Mampusti and Mark "Cast" Hasegawa being prevented to leave the country by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) and the Bureau of Immigration, being examined by Senator Paolo Benigno Aquino IV. 

The E-sports team was suppose to meet fellow Rave members in South Korea to practice and compete in upcoming DoTA2 competitions but the three barred members of the Team Rave were offloaded for insufficient travel documents. However, there are some reports that contradicts the whole act, saying that the three Team Rave members have already been going in and out of Asian countries, including South Korea participating in E-Sports competition. They even took home $144, 169 after taking the 6th spot in a DoTA2 championship in China. 

Online supporters of Team Rave have been posting petitions and rants about how it is unnecessary to prevent the three Team Rave members to go to South Korea to prepare for the competitions. Trending on social media, the netizens, Team Rave supporters has #SaveRave and #Noobyerno trending, changing their Facebook profile pictures to a Rave logo and joining support groups online for the E-Sports community. 

The E-sports participants acknowledges the support they have been given, giving the Team Rave community more motivation to reach out to the government. Although, Sen. Bam that the timing of offloading the cyberathletes couldn't been any worse as they are slated to train for upcoming major tournaments and may have cost Team Rave a shot to compete in the upcoming DreamHack Bucharest 2015. 

He even gave a statement.about the legislators, they believe that "Government should be able to provide an environment where our athletes , online or offline, be able to hone their skills, compete in world class competitions, and give honor and pride to our country."

Although there are netizens give support Team Rave and protest against the offloading, petitioning, the office of Sen. Bam has been extending assistance to Team Rave as support for the growth and development of the e-sports industry and community in the Philippines. The supporters continue to petition for the Team Rave.
